Regularly brushing our teeth has become an essential part of our existence. Imagine going one day without it! However, there may be times when you want to brush but can’t. This could be when you lose your toothbrush or forgot to carry it along with you on your travel. Cinnamon is known to control bacteria growth in the mouth and also prevent bad breath. It also has anti-microbial properties that help with strengthening the teeth. Cinnamon treats such as cinnamon-flavored mints or gums typically contain cinnamic aldehyde. This plants essential oil is what prevents cavity-causing bacteria from prospering.

  1. Oil Pulling

Oil pulling, the rinsing of the mouth using any of various oils, is technically not a substitute for daily brushing. However, it is associated with several benefits. It destroys bad breath, keeps tooth decay away, and lessens gum inflammation. It is useful to whiten teeth and maintain dental hygiene. By getting rid of unhealthy oral bacteria, oil pulling keeps the teeth safe and sturdy.

Put a spoonful of coconut, sesame or sunflower oil in your mouth, and swish it around for approximately 15 minutes. Finally, wash.


  1. Consume Foods That are Crunchy

Crunchy foods or those that scrub against your teeth can function like a brush to clean your teeth. The best time to take in these foods is at the end of your meal.

Make sure the foods you choose are healthy though. Apples and carrots are firm and so while cleaning your teeth, they aid in getting rid of any surface stains and accumulated plaque. That means a lower chance of cavities setting in. Unsweetened popcorn, cauliflower, celery, and nuts are also good.

So, if you use them you could end up with white in some areas and yellow on the other. The strips don’t usually reach close to the gum line so the teeth there would be darkest. If you are looking for an organic and natural alternative to mouthwash to keep your teeth clean, apple cider vinegar is just right. In addition to its cleaning property, the solution is a natural antibiotic.


When you drink coffee or consume processed foods, you get stains. Apple cider vinegar can help to prevent these foods from tarnishing your teeth. To make a mouthwash, mix it with water in such a way that apple cider vinegar is 1/3 of the mixture, and the remaining is water. Taken concentrated, it is too abrasive on the enamel.

Store some apple cider vinegar in a media bottle in your bathroom cabinet so that you don’t forget to use it regularly.

  1. Try a Hydrogen Peroxide-Baking Soda Blend

A hydrogen peroxide-baking soda blend may be used as a bleach for teeth whitening. Brushing with the mixture may be done for some 1 to 2 minutes. Consider this as an occasional treatment only.
